Why does the number of disposals exceed the total count of my transactions in KoinX?

Disposals on KoinX aren’t the same as your raw transaction count. A transaction is any buy, sell or trade you execute, but a disposal is each chunk of crypto you’ve gotten rid of for tax purposes.

Because KoinX matches every sale or trade against your earlier purchases (using FIFO, LIFO or another cost‑basis method), a single transaction can become multiple disposals.

  • Splitting one sale into two disposals
    • Imagine you bought 2 BTC in January and then 3 BTC in February.
    • When you sell 4 BTC in March, KoinX will match that sale to your January lot (2 BTC) and part of your February lot (2 BTC).
    • Even though you only clicked “sell” once, the engine treats it as 2 disposals, one for each purchase batch.
