# How to Generate Your Gate.io Tax Report with KoinX

## How to export your Gate.io transaction history

**Gate.io uses File Upload only — max 180 days per export, so you'll need 3 files to cover a full year.** Upload all files together in one KoinX session.

      <Step title="Log in to Gate.io">
        Go to [gate.io](https://www.gate.ac/login) and sign in to your account.

      <Step title="Open Asset menu">
        Click **Asset** in the top-right corner of the screen.

      <Step title="Select Transaction History">
        In the **Asset** dropdown, select **Transaction History**.
      </Step>

      <Step title="Set your date range">
        When the **Request batch data** window appears, click **Date** and select your date range.

        <Warning>
          **Maximum 180 days per export.** For a full financial year, export 3 separate periods covering the full year. Upload all together in KoinX.

      <Step title="Submit the application">
        Click **Submit Application** to generate the file.

      <Step title="Download the file">
        Click **To Audit** and download the XLSX file once ready. Do not open or edit it.

      Repeat for each 180-day period until your full trading history is covered. Then scroll down to the Upload to KoinX section to complete your import.

    ## Upload to KoinX

      <Step title="Log in to KoinX">
        Go to [app.koinx.com](https://app.koinx.com) and sign in.
      </Step>

      <Step title="Open Integrations">
        Click **Integrations** in the left sidebar → **Add Integration**.
      </Step>

      <Step title="Search for and select Gate.io">
        Type **Gate.io** in the search bar and click on its icon.
      </Step>

      <Step title="Upload your files and submit">
        Upload all downloaded XLSX files into the upload area. Click **Submit** and wait for KoinX to process and import your transactions.

      **Done.** KoinX classifies your Gate.io transactions and prepares everything for gains calculation and tax report generation.

    Your Gate.io history is in KoinX, head to [Tax Reports](https://app.koinx.com/tax-report) and your capital gains report, formatted for your country, is ready to review and file.

      **Never open or edit the XLSX file before uploading.** Any modification corrupts the structure. Re-download a fresh copy from Gate.io if you already did.

## Frequently asked questions

    No. Gate.io only provides a transaction history export. You'll need to upload that to KoinX, which calculates your gains, losses, and tax liability and generates the actual tax report.

  <Accordion title="Why do I need 3 separate exports for a full financial year?">
    Gate.io limits each transaction history export to a maximum of **180 days**. A full financial year (365 days) requires at least 3 exports. Upload all 3 files together in one KoinX session.

  <Accordion title="What file format does Gate.io use and does KoinX support it?">
    Gate.io exports transaction history as **.xlsx (Excel)**. KoinX supports this format. Make sure you don't re-save it as .xls or .csv — those formats are not accepted.

    In India, Gate.io trades fall under Virtual Digital Asset (VDA) tax rules — a **30% tax on profits** and a **1% TDS on all transactions**. KoinX correctly calculates both and includes them in your ITR-ready report.

## Troubleshooting

    Ensure the file is **.xlsx** format. Gate.io exports as XLSX by default — do not re-save or convert it. Files in .xls, .csv, or any other format will fail to import.

  <Accordion title="Transactions are missing after import">
    Your date range may not cover your full history. Gate.io caps exports at 180 days. Repeat the export for any uncovered periods and re-upload all files together.

  <Accordion title="File was opened or edited before upload">
    Opening the XLSX in Excel or Google Sheets can alter formatting and break the import. Re-download a fresh copy directly from Gate.io and upload without opening it.

  <Accordion title="Uploaded data from the wrong date range">
    Delete the current integration in KoinX, re-export the correct date range from Gate.io, and re-upload. Confirm you've covered the full financial year with 3 x 180-day exports.
