# How to Generate Your Okcoin Tax Report with KoinX

## Connect Okcoin to KoinX

**API Key syncs your full Okcoin transaction history automatically - no file exports needed.**

    ## Generate your Okcoin API key

        Go to [okcoin.com](https://www.okcoin.com) and sign in to your account.

        Click the **Profile icon** in the top right corner and select **API**.

        Click **Create API Key**.

      <Step title="Set permissions to Read Only">
        Set permissions to **Read Only** and click **Generate Key**.

          Select **Read Only** permissions only. Never enable trading or withdrawal permissions on an API key connected to a third-party service.

      <Step title="Copy your API key and Secret Key">
        Copy both your **API Key** and **Secret Key** and store them securely. The Secret Key is shown only once.

    ## Connect Okcoin to KoinX

        Log in to [app.koinx.com](https://app.koinx.com) -> **Integrations** -> **Add Integration**.

      <Step title="Select Okcoin">
        Search for **Okcoin** and select it.
      </Step>

      <Step title="Paste your keys and import">
        Paste your **API Key** and **Secret Key** into the respective fields and click **Import Now**.

    <Check>
      **Done.** KoinX begins syncing your Okcoin history. Large accounts may take a few minutes.

    Once your Okcoin data is in, head over to [Tax Reports](https://app.koinx.com/tax-report) on KoinX - your capital gains, income breakdown, and country-specific crypto tax report are ready for you there.

    Read Only permissions only. This gives KoinX access to your full transaction history without the ability to place trades or move funds. Never generate an API key with broader permissions for a third-party service.

    No. Okcoin displays the Secret Key only once at the time of creation. Copy it immediately and store it securely. If lost, delete the key from API settings and generate a new one.

## Troubleshooting

    Confirm the key was generated with Read Only permissions in **Okcoin** -> **Profile** -> **API**. Delete the credentials in KoinX and re-enter both values carefully - copy directly from Okcoin to avoid invisible characters.

  <Accordion title="Transactions are missing after sync">
    Ensure the transaction history covers the full period from your Okcoin account creation date with no gaps. Trigger a manual re-sync from **KoinX** -> **Integrations** -> **Okcoin**. If records are still missing, disconnect and reconnect with a fresh API key.

    Check the Okcoin platform for ongoing maintenance. If the platform is operational, verify the key is still active under **Profile** -> **API**. Regenerate if expired, re-enter credentials in KoinX, and trigger a fresh sync.

    Okcoin API keys can become inactive following account security changes. Log in to Okcoin, check the key status under **Profile** -> **API**, and regenerate if inactive. Update the new credentials in KoinX under **Integrations** -> **Okcoin** -> **Edit**.
