WEEX is a global crypto trading platform known for its derivatives and futures trading features. Designed primarily for active traders, WEEX provides advanced order types, competitive fees, and high liquidity through its web-based platform.
While trading on WEEX may be seamless, preparing your tax reports manually can be time-consuming and error-prone. That’s where KoinX helps. By integrating your WEEX account via API, KoinX automatically fetches your transaction history and generates accurate, country-specific crypto tax reports in minutes. Whether you’re filing in the USA, India, UK, or any of the 100+ supported countries, KoinX ensures full compliance.
How to Integrate WEEX with KoinX?
Here’s how you can integrate WEEX with KoinX easily:
Step 1: Go to the WEEX website and log in to your account using the web version, as API management is not available on mobile.
Step 2: Navigate to the API Management section and click “Create New API.”
Step 3: Fill in the required details and complete the security verification process.
Step 4: Copy and securely save your Passphrase, Access API Key, and Secret Key. Remember, the Secret Key will only be shown once.
Step 5: Submit the official API activation questionnaire provided by WEEX. Ensure all details match your WEEX account and API credentials.
Step 7: Wait for the confirmation email from WEEX stating that your API has been activated.
Step 8: Log in to your KoinX account.
Step 9: Go to the “Integration” section. And Click “Add Transaction”.
Step 10: Search for “WEEX” and select the exchange.
Step 10: Paste your Passphrase, Access API Key, and Secret Key into the respective fields.
Step 11: Click “Import Now” and allow KoinX to sync your transactions. This may take a few minutes, depending on your trading activity.
Step 12: Once the sync is complete, review your transactions and generate your tax report from the “Tax Reports” section.
What to Do After Integration?
Once your data is fetched on KoinX, you can do the following things:
Review Transactions:
Once your WEEX account is connected via API, head to the “Transactions” section in your KoinX dashboard. Review all synced trades, deposits, and withdrawals to ensure your complete transaction history has been imported correctly for the selected financial year.
Verify Auto-Classification Activities:
KoinX automatically categorises your WEEX trades into relevant tax categories such as spot trades, futures, or transfers. Manual tagging is not required. Still, reviewing the auto-classification helps confirm that your activities are correctly recorded before generating your report.
Generate Tax Reports:
Navigate to the “Tax Reports” tab and select your financial year and country. KoinX will process your WEEX transaction data and generate a compliant tax report that aligns with your local crypto tax laws and reporting requirements.
File Your Crypto Taxes With Confidence:
Once your report is ready, you can submit it directly through your country’s tax portal or share it with your accountant. KoinX ensures your WEEX tax data is organised, accurate, and audit-ready.
Common Errors and Troubleshooting
Invalid API Key or Secret: Ensure you have copied the complete API key and secret correctly from WEEX. Even a minor error can prevent successful integration.
Insufficient API Permissions: Make sure the API key has read-only permissions enabled for trades, ledger history, and withdrawals. Missing permissions may result in incomplete transaction imports.
Expired API Key: Some API keys may expire or become inactive. If syncing fails unexpectedly, regenerate a new API key from WEEX and update it in KoinX.
IP Restriction Enabled: If IP whitelisting is enabled during API creation, KoinX servers may not be able to connect. Disable IP restrictions when generating the API key.
Exchange Downtime or Maintenance: Temporary maintenance on WEEX servers may interrupt syncing. Check the exchange status page and retry the integration after some time.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does WEEX Report To Tax Authorities?
There is no public confirmation that WEEX proactively reports user data to tax authorities. However, as a platform that follows KYC and AML standards, it may share user information when legally required. Regardless of exchange reporting practices, you remain responsible for declaring your crypto gains and losses to your local tax authority.
Can WEEX Generate Tax Reports?
No, WEEX does not provide tax-ready reports for direct filing. You must export your transaction data and calculate your tax liability separately. By integrating WEEX with KoinX, you can automatically import your trades and generate a compliant, country-specific crypto tax report within minutes.
Is WEEX Safe To Use?
WEEX is generally considered reasonably safe. It stores most user funds in cold storage, maintains a 1,000 BTC protection fund, and provides Proof of Reserves. However, it has a modest external security rating and limited top-tier regulatory licensing. Users should assess platform risk before storing significant funds.
Does WEEX Need KYC?
KYC is not mandatory for basic access on WEEX. Users can trade and withdraw up to 10,000 USDT daily without verification. Completing KYC through the mobile app increases withdrawal limits up to 1,000,000 USDT per day and unlocks fiat features. Verification is optional but recommended for higher limits and full access.
