An anonymous developer founded BitcoinZ on September 9th, 2017, under the banner “In decentralization, we trust.” This project relies on the community’s involvement, and there is no hierarchical structure such as a CEO or company organization. The necessary tasks are completed solely through the voluntary efforts of the user community. The community aims to provide a fast, secure, and feasible transaction method.
BitcoinZ (BTCZ) is a peer-to-peer and decentralized digital currency that works on a secure and transparent blockchain network committed to absolute decentralization. BTCZ is based on the Equicash algorithm and uses Zhash t-addresses and zk-snarks anonymous z-addresses. It is an ASIC-resistant algorithm, meaning the mining can be done using GPUs. Like Bitcoin, this network also uses Proof-of-Work consensus to secure and validate transactions.
Intrigued by BitcoinZ? Here is a guide on how to mine BitcoinZ easily.
Is BTCZ Mining Profitable?
It can be profitable to mine BitcoinZ, but it depends on various factors, such as the cost of electricity, the price of BTCZ, the mining difficulty rate, and the efficiency of your mining hardware (GPU). To make mining profitable, you need a powerful GPU with a higher hash rate and a low electricity price. Ensure the cost of mining operations is lower than the rewards you will receive through mining. You can calculate the profitability by putting hash rate values, pool fees, electricity costs, and currency in any mining profitability calculator.
How to Mine BTCZ: Our Top 5 Recommendations
Choose A Wallet
Before you mine BitcoinZ, you must select a wallet where all your BTCZ will be stored. The wallet also allows you to manage your coins, track transactions, trade, and transfer. The wallet must have a high-security standard, a good reputation, and easy-to-use features. For BTCZ mining, you can use the official BitcoinZ wallet from the project’s website, available for Windows, iOS, Linux, and Android.
Select a Mining Software
Now you need to select mining software compatible with the Equicash algorithm so that you can mine BitcoinZ easily. The mining software helps you manage the mining operations’ parameters for efficient mining. There are many mining software for both Nvidia and AMD GPUs. Some popular software are EWBF Miner, Bminer, DTSM, Claymore, and Nicehash Excavator.
Get All The Required Mining Hardware
Since the BTCZ project is community-driven, it wants to protect the community and promote decentralization. Therefore, the coin can be mined on a standard PC with a low-end GPU. But for increasing profitability, it is better to use a powerful GPU. The recommendation for such GPUs is Nvidia RTX 3090, Nvidia RTX 3080Ti, Nvidia RTX A5000, Nvidia RTX 3080, Nvidia RTX 3080 LHR, and AMD RX 6950 XT.
Configure the Hardware and Software
After downloading the mining software and acquiring the necessary hardware, you need to configure the optimum settings of the software with the hardware. Now open the .bat file in any text editor and edit your username, password, pool URL, and wallet address.
Join a Mining Pool
You need to combine your hash rate power with that of other miners to have better chances of getting rewarded. Mining pools are where miners combine their resources to earn rewards; the rewards are then equally distributed among the miners according to their contributions. Some popular mining pools to mine BitcoinZ are Prohashing, BTCZApp Mining, Zergpool, K1pool, and Solopool.

How Does BTCZ Mining Work?
Bitcoin BTCZ is based on the consensus of Equicash/Zhash and the Proof-of-Work (PoW). This combination allows the network to process faster transactions, and the PoW helps secure the network. It also ensures the decentralization of the network. The Proof-of-Work consensus requires a considerable amount of time and computational power. The miners are required to perform PoW, which means they have to solve complex mathematical problems and verify the transaction through their computer hardware. Then the miners receive rewards for the computational power they have provided to the network.
How Long Does It Take to Mine One BTCZ?
Tomine BitcoinZ with Proof-of-Work consensus, the time to mine one coin is usually longer. The time taken to mine one BTCZ depends on the hash rate of your hardware and the difficulty rate of the network. The current BTCZ network hashrate is 128.8573 KH/s—the higher the hashrate, the better.
How Difficult Is It to Mine BTCZ?
The difficulty of mining BTCZ is high because of PoW. It also depends on the network’s difficulty rate, the hardware’s power, and the number of miners involved in the BTCZ network. When the network’s hash rate is high, the mining difficulty increases, and vice-versa
What All Do You Need to Mine BTCZ?
1. Hardware:
You can mine BitcoinZ with any average GPU, but as the network hashrate increases, the need for powerful GPUs increases to have a better probability of earning rewards. The recommendation for such GPUs is Nvidia RTX 3090, Nvidia RTX 3080Ti, Nvidia RTX A5000, Nvidia RTX 3080, Nvidia RTX 3080 LHR, and AMD RX 6950 XT.
2. Software:
The mining software lets you command the hardware about how much power should be generated to mine BitcoinZ efficiently. It helps monitor the mining operation’s parameters. BTCZ mining software for both Nvidia and AMD GPUs is EWBF Miner, Bminer, DTSM, Claymore, and Nicehash Excavator.
Mining Pools
BitcoinZ (BTCZ) is a community-driven network. It has many mining pools where miners combine their resources to perform PoW and earn rewards. They have their own official mining pool. Some popular BTCZ mining pools are Prohashing, BTCZApp Mining, Zergpool, K1pool, and Solopool.
Top Wallets to Store Your BTCZ:
Storage of mined coins is essential, as scams and attacks are familiar in the crypto space because of the lack of regulation. It would help if you chose a trusted, secure wallet with the necessary features. For BTCZ storage, you can use the official BitcoinZ wallet from the project’s website, available for Windows, iOS, Linux, and even Android.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q1. Can I mine BTCZ using a CPU?
Ans: Yes, but it is not recommended to mine BitcoinZ with a CPU because it can cause damage to the hardware. Also, the CPU’s difficulty rate needs to be lowered to make BTCZ mining profitable. It would help to use a powerful GPU with a high hash rate to make the mining profitable.
Q2. What is the current block reward, and will it decrease in the future?
Ans: The current block reward of the BTCZ network is 6,250 BTCZ tokens. This is after the first halving event in October 2021. Before the halving, the reward was 12,500 BTCZ tokens. The next halving event is expected to occur in 2025, and then the block reward is estimated to be 3125 BTCZ tokens per block.
Q3. What is the advantage of joining a mining pool?
Ans: Miners combine their hardware resources in the mining pool to mine a coin more efficiently. The probability of getting a reward increases when you join the pool. The reward is distributed promptly among the miners according to their contribution to the pool. The pools usually charge a modest 1% or 2% fee.
