API Key syncs automatically and needs no file management - recommended for most users. Use File Upload if you want manual control over your transaction history.
Log in to app.koinx.com -> Integrations -> Add Integration.
2
Select Digital Surge
Search for Digital Surge and select it.
3
Set start date and paste your key
Choose the API Key option, click Advanced, and set the import start date to cover all your Digital Surge transactions. Paste your API Key and click Import Now.
Done. KoinX begins syncing your Digital Surge history. Large accounts may take a few minutes.
Once your Digital Surge data is in, head over to Tax Reports on KoinX - your capital gains, income breakdown, and country-specific crypto tax report are ready for you there.
Click the menu icon (☰) on the top right side of the screen and select Transaction History from the dropdown menu.
3
Select Trades History
In the Transaction History section, select Trades History.
4
Set date range
Set the date range from 01 July to 30 June of the respective financial year. Ensure dates are entered in DD/MM/YYYY format (e.g. 01/07/2023).
Download transaction reports from the day you created your Digital Surge account. Partial exports lead to missing transactions and inaccurate tax calculations.
5
Select CSV and export
Scroll down, select CSV as the file format, and click Export History to download your transaction data. Do not open the file.
KoinX does not sync Digital Surge transactions in real time. Generate and upload a fresh CSV whenever you want your latest transactions reflected in KoinX.
If you used the File Upload tab above, follow these steps to complete your import. API Key users can skip this - your sync is already done.
1
Open KoinX Integrations
Log in to app.koinx.com -> Integrations -> Add Integration.
2
Select Digital Surge
Search for Digital Surge and select it.
3
Upload your file
Click Upload and select your downloaded Digital Surge CSV file.
4
Submit
Click Submit. KoinX processes your file and imports your full transaction history.
Done. KoinX reads your transactions, classifies them, and prepares everything for gains calculation and report generation.
Now that your Digital Surge file is in, head to Tax Reports on KoinX - your capital gains across trades, deposits, and withdrawals are already calculated and your report is ready to download.
Never open the Digital Surge CSV file in Excel or Google Sheets before uploading. This corrupts the file format. If you already did - re-export a fresh copy from Digital Surge.
Which method should I use - API Key or File Upload?
API Key is recommended for most users. It connects automatically, requires no file management, and syncs your full history when you set the start date correctly in Advanced settings. Use File Upload if you prefer manual control over which financial year’s data is imported.
What date format does Digital Surge require for CSV exports?
Digital Surge requires dates in DD/MM/YYYY format - for example, 01/07/2023 for 1 July 2023. Using an incorrect format may result in an export error or missing records.
Does KoinX sync Digital Surge transactions in real time?
No. File Upload does not support real-time syncing. To ensure your latest transactions are reflected in KoinX, generate and upload a fresh CSV following the steps above whenever needed. API Key users can trigger a manual re-sync from the Integrations panel.
Does Digital Surge provide tax reports directly?
No. Digital Surge does not provide tax-ready reports for direct filing. By integrating Digital Surge with KoinX via API or CSV upload, your full transaction history is imported and a compliant tax report is generated within minutes.
Does KoinX support Australian crypto tax rules?
Yes. KoinX supports ATO-compliant tax reports for Australia as well as 100+ other countries. After importing your Digital Surge data, select Australia to generate the correct report for your financial year.
Confirm the key was generated with Read Only permissions in Digital Surge -> API Key settings. Delete the credentials in KoinX and re-enter the key carefully - copy directly from Digital Surge to avoid invisible characters.
Transactions are missing after API sync
Check that the import start date in Advanced settings covers your full Digital Surge history from account creation. Trigger a manual re-sync from KoinX -> Integrations -> Digital Surge after adjusting the date.
CSV file won't upload to KoinX
Re-download a fresh copy of the CSV from Digital Surge without opening it. Opening the file in Excel or Google Sheets reformats date and number columns, breaking the file structure KoinX expects. Confirm the file format is CSV only.
Transactions are missing after CSV upload
Check that the export date range covers your full Digital Surge trading history from account creation. Download separate files for each financial year if needed and upload all files together in one KoinX session.
API sync keeps failing
Check the Digital Surge platform for ongoing maintenance. If the platform is operational, verify the key is still active under the menu icon (☰) -> API Key. Regenerate if expired, re-enter in KoinX, and trigger a fresh sync.
KoinX is showing duplicate Digital Surge transactions
Check KoinX -> Integrations for duplicate Digital Surge connections and remove any extras. If both an API sync and a CSV upload were done for the same period, remove one and retain only a single connection method.
