How Direct Connect Works

Direct Connect is exchange-initiated — meaning the flow starts from inside your exchange’s app, not from KoinX. Here’s what the process looks like:

What Data Can KoinX Access?

What If My Exchange Account Uses a Different Email?

Direct Connect primarily matches accounts based on email. If your exchange email is different from your KoinX login email, the connection may not detect your account automatically. To fix this, go to KoinX → Account Settings → Add Email and add the email address associated with your exchange account. Once added, the system will detect the corresponding account and connect the correct data.

Revoking Direct Connect

If you want to disconnect, go to KoinX → Integrations, find the exchange, and unlink the integration. Deleting Direct Connect means removing the integration. When you delete the integration from your account, all previously imported data from that exchange is also removed from KoinX. If you relink later, the data will be re-imported.

Common Issues / Edge Cases

Not all exchanges expose every transaction type through their integration. Staking rewards, funding fees, and P2P trades may not come through. Use a File Upload to fill gaps.
Remove the integration from KoinX and redo the setup, making sure to log into the correct exchange account during the authorisation step.
